The SFBMEc is a French society dedicated to promoting research and disseminating knowledge in the field of extracellular matrix biology.
Its members (scientists, doctors, pharmacists, dentists and veterinary surgeons) come from different laboratories and disciplines (biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and biophysics).
These disciplines are used to study the extracellular matrix in numerous fields such as oncology, cardiology, dermatology, development, hepatology and rheumatology.

For more than 30 years, the SFBMEc has been organising scientific days that bring together the main players in the field of the extracellular matrix in France, and more marginally in Europe.

In 2025, the annual meeting will take place on 22 & 23 September in Toulouse.

It usually takes place over 2 days, and the first half-day is organised by and for young researchers (PhD and post-doctoral students) within SFBMEc Avenir.
